Married, but Separated

When is it okay to date a man who is separated? Even though a person is separated they are still legally married. I met “I’m married, but separated” at Publix. I was in line behind him with one item, some Dran-O. He had a cart full of groceries. He said I could get in front of him and I took quick glance at his ring finger and NO ring! I was pleased, but then I looked in his cart, he had a bunch of family value groceries. You know the extra-large boxes of chips and snacks and other items that people buy when they have more than one kid. He also had Yoplait’s Strawberry Yogurt and mini bagels. That is something a woman would eat in the morning.

The Kappa

I went out Saturday night during the Florida Classic to a club that just opened. I didn’t actually know who was throwing the party until I got in and it happened to be a Greek party.

The Track Star

What happened with The Track Star probably served me right. Since I was a kid I never took the easy route. I always had to make my life way more complicated than it needed to be. Maybe that’s why I spent half my middle and high school days on punishment. My mom would tell me I’m on punishment for two weeks and about time I got finished with all my slick comments and attitude, my two weeks would turn into a month or two.

The Holy War

Outside of the really good meal at Spice there was nothing else about The Bible Thumper I liked. Well, there was something else. My taillights went out and he works for is one of those mega churches. You know the churches that consist of daycares, ATM machines, a studio, valet parking, and have couple of car mechanics on duty. I figured why not get my car fixed. Just maybe the Lord put him in my life for that. Or maybe the Lord is using me as a vessel to help him change his ways! Or maybe that’s just me rationalizing the fact that it cost almost $400 to get my car fixed and I didn’t want to pay it. I hinted towards my car’s taillights and he let me know that there were three mechanics on hand at the church that the employees used. We went on Thursday so the mechanic could diagnose the problem and everything seemed to be on track. Well, it was on track until Friday night.

The International Player

One thing I have realized about this whole dating thing is that it’s no different from the documentaries on The Animal Planet. There is always a predator and a prey. Whether it’s the mid 30s distinguished guy who sees the hot, naive girl in her 20s that he could mold into a good wife. There is also the college girl who is a money hungry fashionista who preys on the guy who is between 40 and 50 with the expensive car and the “you can have whatever you like” attitude. There is also the guy in the club who wants to take someone home and spots the big booty girl dropping it low because she had a couple of drinks. There is always a predator and a prey! I think with Boy #1 we both were preys our friends were the predators because they put us together! With Boy #2 I think we both shared the predator and prey role. Nope, I take it back! Seeing as though, he lied on Boy #1 clearly I was the prey.

Liar, Liar

One of the bad things about me and dating is I don’t know how to tell people I am not interested after the first date. So I respond to some of their texts in hopes that my one word answers will eventually lead them to the conclusion that I’m not interested. Or sometimes there is that other half of me that wants to keep some of them around for my personal benefits. That is why “Notorious B.I.G” got a “Hey, what’s up you” text from me now and again.
