Tears Dry On Their Own

So here we are and I can’t even look him in the face. I embraced everyone else with a hug and small talk but I threw my hand up and looked away as I said “Hi” to Boy #2.

The Decision

A received a text that read, “Someone requested for you to come out tonight.” I responded, “No.” I always envisioned this moment, seeing Boy #2, and every time I play it in my head it ends a different way. It has been about 6 or 7 months since our last conversation and knowing I would never see Boy #2 again was comforting to my heart. Now on this random day there was this opportunity that I didn’t think would happen.

Computer Love

My mom figured that a date with The Computer Programmer wouldn’t be so bad because he might know something about web design. So I was kind of excited to ask him a few questions so I can change my blog from basic to fabulous.

Throwing in the Towel

I thought about what pros Boy #1’s sister said about dating a white man. I thought about my own dramas with black men and if there would be a day that I would give up on them. I looked at my boss and said, “Oh no, it looks like he rubbed castor oil on his head.” She laughed and said, “He’s nice though, he might be good for you.”

The Text Message

My mom and I were talking about insecurities early Super Bowl Sunday. I told her how people can continuously tell a person they are pretty, but it doesn’t matter if they don’t see that in the mirror. I was one of those kids that had super low self-esteem. I think as a kid all you want to do is blend in. You want to dress the same, look the same, and have your hair the same as your peers.

The International Luncheon

I was having an uneventful Thursday at work when The International Player walked in. Even though I cut The International Player off text and phone call wise after he told me he had a wife I still liked when he came into my job because his personality was brighter than the sun.

Joe Somebody

I can’t help it I love men that are tall, dark, and handsome. He gets extra cool points if he is from the South. So it makes sense why Joe Somebody was right up my alley.
