An Unsure Thing?

Flex had been floating across my mind since the day party so you can imagine how excited I was when he texted me, “Did your friend tell you what I said? You owe me an H&M shirt!” I texted, “Boy stop! You know you purchased that shirt from Wal-Mart.” Flex texted, “LOL, you got jokes? That’s cool, but you will be taking me shopping.” I texted, “If you don’t throw that shirt in the washing machine and toss some bleach in there and call it day…But seriously I’m so sorry you was looking all fresh, clean, and crisp too!” Flex texted,” I had just got it from H&M that day.” I texted, “Awww man.” He texted, “We should hangout…” I texted, “Most definitely you know they just opened a Dave and Busters over there by International and it’s half off games and drinks on Wednesdays. We should go there so I can kick your butt in some arcade games.” He texted, “Yeah, that sounds like a plan.”

Femme Fatale

I was at work on Wednesday bored to death. I received a text from Keith who asked me how my day was going. I told him fine and asked how he was doing. He texted, “Not feeling my best but I’ll be alright. It’s just another one of those crazy concert days.” I responded, “I hope it gets better. Who’s performing?” Keith texted, “Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj.” I texted, “I love me some Nicki Minaj and I’ve liked Britney since back in the day.” He texted, “If I come across a ticket do you want it?” I texted, “Of course, but don’t stress yourself over it.”

A Sure Thing

I showed up at a day party and a little apprehensive because I just knew somebody would have on my tribal printed romper. Bhoranie and I ordered a couple of $2 mimosas and were enjoying the vibe and people watching. I saw Notorious standing on the other side of the deck but I was happy I had on a pair shades so I could act like I didn’t notice him, but then I saw somebody that I couldn’t help but notice.

The White Out

Kendra and I walked into the Amway arena ready for the all-white party. We expected this lavish party, gorgeous people in all white, and just a great vibe. We definitely didn’t get that. We walked into the Mercedes Benz Lounge and it was about 21 other people in there. Nine of the people were working the party; you know bartenders, security guards, and servers. I looked at the time on my cell phone and it was a little after 12AM. Kendra and I decided to order drinks at the bar and try to figure out why this party had more workers than attendees.

Shacking Up

Lauren and I walked into Roxys and immediately we were glad we came out. She grabbed my arm and said, “Oh I didn’t tell you Maria broke up with her boyfriend.” I said, “Really?” Maria was a mutual friend Lauren and I had in college. Maria is an African American version of Kim Kardashian. From Maria’s body to her personality to her really wanting to be married reminded me of Kim K.  After a few failed relationships with current professional athletes Maria finally decided to give this guy named Jackson a try.

The Bull

I walked out the back of a party downtown anxious to get home. I thought, “I didn’t even know the alley existed. How do I get to the parking garage?” An African American man said, “You lost ‘Slim’?” I said, “Hell yeah, I don’t even know where I’m at?” He said, “You parked under the bridge?” I said, “Yeah, right across from the Amway Arena.” He said, “I’m The Bull by the way.” I said, “I’m Ebony.” The Bull said, “You wearing that dress and that’s my team’s color too.” I ignored his comment because I knew he was expecting me to say, “What team?”

The Ratio: 100 Females to 87 Males?

I arrived at the Delores Hotel on Collins Ave at 11AM. I was uber excited to see Angie and hangout on South Beach.  Since Angie was visiting South Beach in the middle of the work week I told her that I would come there for 24 hours and I treat my time there like the NBA’s saying “Go hard or go home”. I was going to show up early morning, go hard with fun and entertainment, and then leave the next morning so I could make it to work.

Bad Teacher + The Casey Anthony Trial = A Good 4th of July

I went to the Plaza Cinema Café on 4th of July. I remember when all you could get from the movies was popcorn, candy and a coke. At this theater you could get pulled pork sandwiches, popcorn chicken or shrimp, hummus with pita bread, and spinach artichoke dip, mimosas, beer, wine, and margaritas. As I walked towards my movie I was impressed with the construction of the movie theater. There were lounges with sofas and high top tables and every rated R movie is connected to a bar with a great view of the city. I had a few minutes before my movie started so I decided to sit at one of the high tops and check my Twitter and Facebook page.

Red, White, and Boy #1?

It has been a month or so since I’ve hung out with Boy #1’s family. School, work and going out of town has kept me occupied. I received a text from Boy #1’s sister that said, “4th of July crab boil this Saturday at the house. You are invited, if you want to come.” Of course I wanted to go to a crab boil and I was excited to see Boy #1’s sister and aunt because they both would be celebrating their birthdays that weekend.
