I’m going to take a break from Wild Out Wednesday to have Hump Day Wednesday. The artist I’ve chosen for Hump Day Wednesday is no other than R.Kelly. All of Kells’ albums have a good portion of hump music, but I chose to take songs from his 1993′s debut album 12 Play. His songs dominated the airwaves and I find it really funny now that I use to sing along with these songs…not really knowing what I was singing about.
Talk About It Tuesday
“Should hazing be considered a felony charge?”
My Alma mater Florida A & M University isn’t being displayed in the best of light since the annual Florida Classic Weekend two weeks ago. For those who don’t know the story, a drum major named Robert Champion passed away after the football game. It has been reported that he was vomiting and short of breath before he collapsed. He was later pronounced dead at a near hospital.
It is also being reported that hazing was involved. Police and former band members said that Champion probably had to walk through a “gauntlet of fists”.
Movie Monday
Cher on picking the right boyfriend: “You know how picky I am about my shoes and they only go on my feet.”
Cher on violent TV shows: “Until mankind is peaceful enough not to have violence on the news, there’s no point in taking it out of shows that need it for entertainment value.”
Cher on Billie Holiday: “I love him.”
The Outside Kid
I showed up early at Barnes and Noble so I could browse around the aisles of books before I met up with my study group. I heard a voice say, “This is a first. You’re actually early to a meeting.” I turned around and saw one of my classmates. I said, “Don’t act like I show up to every meeting late.” She laughed and said, “You do!” I looked my classmate up and down. She was usually well put together, but today she was in sweats and a hoodie. She said, “Why you looking at me like that?” I said, “I didn’t know you dressed down.” She said, “I’m stressed the hell out.” I said, “With work?” She said, “Nah, with my husband.”
T.G.I Friday
“Just got paid, Friday night”
What’s better than payday Friday? And if you get direct deposit you actually get your check deposited into your account between 12am-4am Friday morning while you are sound asleep. I know for me it feels so good waking up to money in the bank even though I’m mad I have to sit at work eight more hours until my weekend can officially begin. LOL
That is why this T.G.I Friday’s post is dedicated to Johnny Kemp’s “Just Got Paid”. I hope everybody has a safe weekend! =)
Sidenote: Make sure your bills are paid first and then splurge on Black Friday.
Throwback Thursday
Today is Thanksgiving and the song I am choosing for “Throwback Thursday” is exactly what I plan on doing today ‘Eat It’ by Weird Al Yankovic. Enjoy your Thanksgiving! =)
Wild Out Wednesday
“I’m loving it.”
McDonald’s never seize to amaze me. They basically are giving out burgers, fries, and apple pies for free and yet their corporation is getting bigger and bigger!
The best part about Mickey D’s besides their fries and pineapple mango smoothies is their advertisements. They know exactly who they are gearing the commercials too. The commercial itself and the television network they play it on is a dead giveaway. So here are some of their commercials and you decide who they are gearing them too…
Talk About It Tuesday
“Plastic Surgery… for you, for him or for her?”
I know plastic surgery didn’t just start yesterday, but it feels like we’re being engulfed in it. So who are we trying to impress? I’ll be honest I also thought about getting a nose job. I know nobody else (friends, family, and men) sees anything wrong with my nose, but I do.
I look at TV and I see bigger and bigger boobs and butts. Is it really a corrective thing or a competition thing? Are women trying to get bigger boobs just to say they have the biggest boobs? Or are women getting the biggest butt just to say they have the biggest butt? I asked a couple of guy friends what do they like ON a women and they all mentioned different things. Not all men like super gigantic asses and triple D boobs, and not all men like model sizes or petite frames.
Are women really doing this for themselves, men or the competition that they have with other women? I remember when Usher’s then wife Tameka had a close call getting plastic surgery in South America. Was this surgery for her because she always was self conscious? (But hell, how self-conscious or unattractive can you be? You dated and married Usher.) Or was it the competition she had going on with other women?
So my “Talk about It Tuesday” question is….Who is plastic surgery for…you, him or her?
This post came after I read this article on the Huffington Post! —} Woman Gets Cement Injections in Butt
Movie Monday
“Soul food cooking is about cooking from the heart.”
Since Thanksgiving is a few days away the movie I chose for “Movie Monday” is Soul Food. I loved the cast that included Nia Long, Vivica A. Fox, and Vanessa L. Williams and I loved the drama! My mom bought me the soundtrack which was also amazing.
A Bank Baby
“Did you see that article about T.O.’s child support payments?” I asked my mom. She said, “No. Why?” I said, “Ummm, why get a degree or work your entire life when having a baby can bring you 20K a month.” She said, “20, 000?” I said, “Yeah. I was on NecoleBitchie.com and his first baby mom was getting 20K and the mom of his fourth child gets 5K. If I learned anything today it is have the first child.” My mom laughed.
