The 3rd Wheel

3rd wheel

“What happened to The Medic?”

I adjusted myself in my chair and said, “I think he’s out.”

“It wasn’t his fault! It was your Bar Manager’s fault, she invited herself.”

“No, but I was just aggravated with the entire situation. I felt like the third wheel. She over talked me and acted like we were on “Flavor of Love” or some dating competition.”

“Excuse me…when have you ever been shy? If you wanted his attention you could have gotten it.”

“That’s my point; he asked me to dinner I shouldn’t have to compete for his attention.”

She sighed, “So, how did it end?”

“The music was loud, The Bar Manager was loud, and the server took forever to even greet us…so I blurted out, “I’m ready to go!”

My friend laughed, “What did he say?”

“He looked shocked because I said it with the most attitude. I didn’t mean for it to come out like that. I was just aggravated. He drove us back to the bar, The Bar Manager hopped out and ran into the bar. I got out and started walking to my car and he stood there and I heard him mumble, “I guess I’ll just stay here and have another drink.”

“What?”

“Yep. I know I had an attitude, but him doing that made me feel like he chose The Bar Manager. He should have just gone home!”

“So, have you talked to him?”

“Nope, he did call I just didn’t answer.”

She sighed and then said, “Oh wells. Another one bites the dust.”

I couldn’t make this ish up if I tried.

Wow I think I agree with you both….unfortunately I have learned the hard way (through my husband after I did all the subtle hints but he still didn’t get it) that sometimes its better to be upfront and frank with a man. Pull them aside and tell them. He hated my hints and attitudes but loves my frankness and upfront points. He doesn’t have to guess. We have been together for 13 but married for 10.

  3. Girl, I bet he was just standing there with that “deer in the headlight” look…men, they just don’t get it or they just don’t want to get it.

Do you still work at the bar? How is the manager acting now?

    • Hey gee!
Yes, he was standing there looking so dazed and confused I started to think maybe I over reacted.
Yes, I still work at the bar and trust me its more to come because that bar manager is a piece of work!!!!
